LBR isn’t going anywhere, but I am increasing my hours at work, requiring a serious change for the site.
Going forward, I expect to slow down the volume of content on LBR. Instead of regularly scheduled posts, I’ll write up features whenever possible. This will likely lean towards reviews, but I do still plan to give small games a highlight now and then. I also aim to include more tabletop content.
I’ve single-handedly kept the lights on at LBR for years, now. And while it honestly didn’t gain the traction I hoped for, it did earn terrific goodwill among some PR reps, and I’ve truly enjoyed finding indie talent.
Indie devs and fans have been a delight to discuss. I was miserable writing for other sites, from the drag of mindless corporate pieces and listicles to toxic teams and shrill comment sections.
LBR remains a lighthouse for those who prefer positivity, exciting discoveries, and wish to support creatives—and actually enjoy gaming itself.
Following a devastating family loss just weeks ago, slowing down is best for my mental health right now, anyway.
Thanks for your understanding! You can still expect to read lots of great content ahead, it just won’t be so frequent, so stay tuned for more from the Quarterpede.
