Indie Boards and Cards launched a new Gamefound campaign for tabletop expansion Aeon’s End: Beyond the Breach today! The deck-building staple returns with all-new nemeses, mages, and other content designed for the hit expedition system.
In Aeon’s End, players strategically build up unique hero decks and use “breach” tiles to wield magic against terrifying creatures and their minions. Beyond the Breach expands on expedition gameplay, which adds narrative elements to this classic boss battler.
According to today’s campaign, the additions include a fifth battle for your epic finale. In turn, this introduces “a whole new level of difficulty”, corresponding treasures, novel “trinkets,” and more.

Aeon’s End has long been a mainstay of tabletop gaming. But it happens to be a personal favorite for my fiancee and I, so I couldn’t resist covering yet another expansion!
The lore continues to evolve with elements of time disruption. It feels like an organic direction that gives designers and players alike the chance for a little nostalgia. That includes a handy tune-up for the classic nemesis Crooked Mask.
The new nemeses and mages look promising, and “The Timeless” from The Surface immediately caught my eye with startling, compelling creature design alone.
But I’m delighted to see that Beyond the Breach doesn’t stop at obligatory new content. New single-use trinkets sound like a quick way to add replay value, and a sense of discovery akin to dungeon crawlers! They should definitely broaden the treasure concept and turn gameplay tides.
It’s hard to believe the series is quickly approaching its tenth anniversary. The designers keep taking bold turns, and compatibility makes it easy to revisit your collection. Today’s Gamefound campaign is already fully funded, of course, so tune in for updates and stretch goals!
