Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, the hit indie sim with physics-based comedy from Landfall, is finally coming to mobile platforms! In a new post on X, Landfall confirmed TABS Pocket Edition launches this year.
This mobile game will be available on both Google Play and the App Store. Fans can already pre-register on the former, so, it probably isn’t an April Fool’s Joke. Besides, TABS is perfectly suited for mobile play!
The original remains a staple of indie gaming, thanks to its trademark physics hilarity. It was an ever-evolving sandbox for the unexpected. In TABS, players explore many ways to witness creative and bizarre battles among wobbling armies.
There’s no concrete release date for Pocket Edition just yet. However, Landfall did release a fun little trailer today. It appeared in the Landfall Day video in celebration of the studio’s anniversary:
Many fellow indie fans have their own TABS memories. I can guarantee that we’ll all be pleased to see another platform breathe new life into the game! Its streamlined mechanisms are a natural fit for mobile devices. I’m pretty sure TABS will only gain more charm and coziness.
Landfall is a little larger than most devs I cover here on LBR. They’ve got a major following, especially following Content Warning and the enormous buzz building around Haste. As a 90’s kid who grew up with Sonic, I positively love the idea of Haste too!
But I’ve covered Landfall on other sites before, and I’m proud to finally praise their hard work on my own site. Landfall games are consistently witty, clever, and unafraid to try new directions.
TABS is no exception, so be sure to keep an eye out for the Pocket Edition! Landfall teased that there’s a “release date coming soon.” In another post on X, the studio also mentioned TABS Pocket Edition will be just “4.99 USD for the mobile version,” though that may be subject to change.
