MOJITO Woody’s Rescue, a 3D platforming adventure from solo indie developer GTZAStudio, has some fresh teaser trailers and a demo under way. I’m always ready to applaud solo devs, and this project looks like a bright, lively trip down memory lane for a 90’s kid like me!
In MOJITO Woody’s Rescue, players lead Mojito the cat on a journey to save their best friend Woody, a dog kidnapped by a villainous cucumber. You’ll need to parkour, solve puzzles, and collect lots of collectables across different open worlds. You can also customize Mojito! A welcome feature for any game in this genre.
MOJITO doesn’t have a release date just yet. But you can already find and wishlist the game on Steam to stay updated.
I’m a longtime fan of platformers, partly due to the many classic 3D adventures I grew up with. So, MOJITO quickly caught my attention with its familiar mechanics and colorful art design!
Its bouncy, adventurous tone reminds me a bit of Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara. Admittedly, I personally don’t find the worlds in MOJITO quite as unique as that one, thus far. But MOJITO does still have plenty of personality. It seems to embrace a quirky style, which should stand out among similar titles.
I really appreciate the wacky villain, shapes that are intentionally askew, and the unapologetic sense of humor! The classics often had some oddball spontaneity, and I’m happy to see that in MOJITO.
On a technical level, it should also impress platforming fans. I was surprised to find one person made this, between its gorgeous visuals and unexpected features! I hope the movement feels as smooth as it looks.
So, I commend the developer for tackling such an ambitious project, and invite other genre fans to support them! I for one (and my inner child) can’t wait to see the demo.
