Solve cozy puzzles to help your pooch in Lighthaze World

Lighthaze World, a relaxing puzzle adventure from indie developer and publisher Radiobush, continues to evolve following fan feedback. It made a big impression at PAX Australia, and just caught my eye today. Well, I couldn’t wait for another major update from the devs to talk about this promising indie.

In Lighthaze World, the hero Nym must find food for their dog Chewy as anxiety transforms the world into strange obstacles. Players will solve nonlinear puzzles as they explore 8 unique levels with a variety of settings. The gameplay is cozy and relaxing, and the Steam page elaborates that there’s “no combat” at all.

Just yesterday, Radiobush showcased how player feedback helped reshape some of the puzzles in a new post on X. They released the most recent trailer about a month ago:

The art design in Lighthaze World may feel a bit familiar, but it’s still charming, and the basic premise is distinct. As a dog lover who considers pets family, I can’t help but enjoy the cause, and how it ties into the story’s main themes.

The interpretation of anxiety looks clever and relatable. While I haven’t had the chance to play the game yet, it does appear to handle things in a thoughtful way too.

Lighthaze World also has some inspired level design, with a sense of wonder. The Steam page describes levels as “beautiful Tasmanian landscapes.” That influence does partly come through, with some creative geography.

Overall, it really seems to understand what fans of the genre find so appealing about it. It clearly has a lot of imagination and heart, and the cozy approach should be very accessible for newcomers.

Lighthaze World will be available on PC via Steam. There’s no word on other platforms, and it doesn’t have a release date at this time. But the game has been in development for a while, and there is a demo on Steam!
