Que onda, readers! Anthony here. Although LBR’s hiatus lasted a bit longer than expected, it’s finally complete! So, I’d just like to give everyone an update about the big changes that transpired, and what LBR has in store.
Firstly, I am officially engaged, and my fiancée and I just bought our first home! It’s a pretty complex process, full of non-stop obstacles, and hard work.
Buying a house combines all the stress of an ordinary move—which is already challenging—with a lot of saving and learning and planning and so much more. Sure wish someone stressed how expensive closing costs are at the onset! But it’s all worth it, especially getting to involve my little, old dog Liam while he’s still with us.
So, I ramped up all of my work hours to help pay for the move and necessities, and took extra time to pack everything we own. Now I continue to unpack all of it, and like any move, you realize you have more things than you probably need.
Since LBR is a labor of love, and doesn’t pay the bills, it simply needed to take the backburner so that I could find my new stride.
And it helped remind me why I actually love gaming throughout my time at a certain unnamed client. They’ll remain unnamed because I only just parted ways with them—my other major update.
The client was, without hyperbole, the most toxic client I’ve ever worked with—though not at first, certainly to the bitter end. It operates with all the strategy and friendliness of a miserable high school cafeteria, and it badly affected my mental health. I was stuck there to afford various emergencies, family loss, and the move.
Though I saved lots of proof of toxic behavior with context, now I just want to move on and heal. It’s not worth the time, barely for this blog. But I do want to warn freelancers in any field to trust your instincts and drop clients while you can. I’m also proud to say that my mental health is improving, and LBR’s mission brightens my day, so I hope it brightens yours too.
To that end, let’s concentrate on the future! I’m considering adding video content for LBR, on its official YouTube channel. I would then transcribe that content for the site, including choice reviews, news, and so forth.
I’d like to build and connect with my audience some more, and may also feature some lifestyle content! I need some basic tools and a little more time, but I still want to expand LBR.
So, keep an eye out for updates about video content! In the meantime, I’ll begin writing up regular articles like I used to again, so get ready for even more up-and-comers, tabletop hits, and more.
Thanks for reading!
Anthony
