In a new post on X today, Anshar Publishing shared a brand-new gameplay trailer for co-op puzzle indie Bytebond, developed by DVD Unicorns. The isometric gameplay supports single-player and online or split-screen co-op.
In Bytebond, players are a duo of Antivirus Special Forces heroes, who must enter and rescue an infected CPU. Players will explore different biomes, solving puzzles while battling various enemies, such as virus bots.
Bytebond does not currently have a concrete release date, but it is listed as “coming soon” on the official Steam page. According to today’s new gameplay trailer, Bytebond will be available on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG.
Bytebond also has a playable demo on Steam at this time, though I haven’t had the chance to check it out just yet.
Fans of the indie scene may recognize Anshar Publishing for titles like Detached, Weakless, and Zoria: Age of Shattering. Tactical RPG Zoria just released last March to “Mostly Positive” reviews on Steam.
DVD Unicorns is a small team of Polish developers, and don’t have previous games to consider. However, Bytebond already looks very promising, building on the familiar premise seen in indies like Boti: Byteland Overclocked.
Bytebond’s heroes are considerably cute, and today’s trailer teases some very compelling puzzles. I always appreciate the commitment to couch co-op, and the emphasis on teamwork is sure to please fans of the genre.
Bytebond’s Ozzy & Drix premise, slick art design, and playful attitude could help this game become the next PHOGS!, a personal favorite—if Bytebond’s puzzles are creative enough. This is definitely one to keep an eye on.
