Discover Eastern folk tales and history in Lost in Art: A Miniature Realm

In a new post on Twitter/X, indie developer and publisher Archaic Game Studio has released an official trailer for its 2D puzzle adventure Lost in Art: A Miniature Realm.

In Lost in Art, players will use point-and-click mechanics to explore a miniature universe inspired by Ottoman and Persian culture. You must solve puzzles, encountering mythology and historical events alike to rescue the world from being forgotten.

Lost in Art: A Miniature Realm does not currently have a release date. However, you can wishlist the game on PC via Steam. For now, there’s no word on plans for other platforms.

I was very pleased to find that Lost In Art is not just another hidden object game. That is often an easy way to incorporate culture, sometimes just to establish a theme. Instead, today’s trailer teases a variety of puzzles and dialogue.

As you may know, I always appreciate when devs include cultural inspiration and authenticity. So, I’m happily surprised that Lost In Time’s Steam page emphasizes that kind of influence.

That extends from the historical events in the story to “real miniature artworks” and a soundtrack featuring “traditional instruments.” In fact, the devs also mention they are “inspired by Anatolian art and culture” directly on their Twitter/X account.

I find the entire aesthetic of Lost in Art fascinating. Hopefully, the narrative is able to smoothly incorporate the historical interest, and doesn’t rely on that alone for intrigue. The new trailer does tease a book of travels, where you can “collect beauty and story from your adventures.”

Puzzles often accompany point-and-click games, and may also help Lost in Art feel more accessible for newcomers to the genre.

Lost in Art: A Miniature Realm appears to be a debut for Archaic Game Studio, so there’s no previous work to compare to. However, today’s footage does look promising.
