In a new post on Twitter, indie developer and publisher BUNKWORKS has officially announced The Biggleboss Incident, a satirical point-and-click adventure. The post includes a cinematic teaser, setting up the protagonist, humorous tone, and central conflict.
In The Biggleboss Incident, players will use point-and-click mechanics to explore an office workplace. You’ll need to meet various co-workers and solve puzzles in order to work your way up to the boss’ desk and get to the bottom of a strange conspiracy. There will also be minor fetch quests.
The Biggleboss Incident was only just announced, so it doesn’t have a concrete release date yet. But its release window is currently set for Q1 2025. It will be available on PC via Steam.
I for one am always a little biased towards corporate satire—especially after spending over a decade as an overappreciated, overpaid, and extensively supported freelance writer. Anyone can relate to office humor, really, but comedy can get a little subjective.
Fortunately, today’s announcement teaser looks very promising, with enough comedic nuance to imply the game will be quite sharp and avoid low-hanging fruit.
In fact, it’s always a good sign when the Steam page can get me to chuckle. The devs mention that if players don’t end up enjoying The Biggleboss Incident, they’ll work on “something with guns and a season pass” next.
The teaser jokes about general work culture, and dodging responsibility by any means necessary. While point-and-click isn’t for everyone, Biggleboss appears to be very accessible.
The Steam screenshots reveal some notable gameplay mechanics, such as interacting with fully-voiced colleagues. There’s also some meta humor in there about the point-and-click genre itself.
It’s clear that The Biggleboss Incident was a passion project. There seems to be a lot of thought and effort behind the details, and it might even prove a little cathartic.
