Harmony’s Odyssey, a 3D fantasy puzzle game from developer MythicOwl, is officially getting ported to PlayStation and Xbox on October 19th, 2023. The new versions are courtesy of publisher We Dig Games, and are set to include both current and last-gen consoles.
In Harmony’s Odyssey, a young hero must adventure through different fantasy biomes to help the locals, after a cute cat tangled up their worlds. Players will need to solve over 100 tile-based puzzles with a cozy tone.
The game originally launched last year, and is available now on PC and Nintendo Switch. Here’s the full announcement post from MythicOwl’s official Twitter feed:
For reference, you can also watch a gameplay breakdown by revisiting the official release trailer from MythicOwl’s YouTube channel:
I’ve only just discovered this game, so hopefully the new console versions will also raise awareness for other fans of the genre.
The wholesome and magical world of Harmony’s Odyssey might draw some comparisons to Mika and The Witch’s Mountain, which launches next year. But Harmony’s Odyssey definitely has its own personality, doubling down on fantasy and adorable oddities.
This is a bright, colorful game, but a cozy tone isn’t enough to thrive. There are plenty of similar puzzle games, like Stick to the Plan, which I recently reviewed here on LBR.
Harmony’s Odyssey will likely win your attention with its sense of humor, which really comes through in its trailers. The entire game has the spark of a child’s imagination, brimming with cute nonsense.
That approach also seems to promise some inventive little puzzles, even though they’re based on a very straightforward and familiar jigsaw system.
As a result, the gameplay looks friendly and intuitive. It should be easily translated to the new consoles. If you’re also a newcomer, there’s a demo available on Steam to consider.
