Dwarves: Glory, Death and Loot, an adventure RPG and roguelike from ichbinhamma and publisher Gamersky Games, has just released a new Early Access trailer. It includes a gameplay overview of the key mechanics and loop.
In Dwarves: Glory, Death and Loot, players will build, customize, and upgrade a legion of dwarves to combat a series of orcs and powerful bosses. It features auto-battler mechanics, and an emphasis on formations.
Dwarves: Glory, Death and Loot is slated to launch into Early Access on August 17th, 2023. It will be available on PC via Steam, where you can wishlist the game now. The Steam page also mentions that this title will remain in Early Access for “roughly 6 months to 1 year”.

The roguelike genre has become so dominant, it might be a deterrent for some fans, and there are certainly plenty of other dwarf games. However, Dwarves: Glory, Death and Loot is both streamlined and clever, thanks to its charming world and formation mechanic.
Traditional roguelikes mostly concentrate on upgrading stats and weapons, or combining effects. A configuration approach creates a more tactical feel, where players must actually consider positioning as much as their characters, rather than solely relying on farming upgrades.
There’s a better sense of command, and because players will likely need to think quickly about each formation, they’ll need to be more invested in their heroes.
Today’s trailer also shows off some terrific artwork. The dwarves are adorable, and there are some creative and distinct costumes for them, which could help players keep track of the action.
Dwarves: Glory, Death and Loot seems to indulge brisk and silly fun, even in the bookends of today’s trailer, and Early Access plans to continue regularly adding new content.
