Action indie “REMEDIUM: Sentinels” announces July release date

REMEDIUM: Sentinels, an indie roguelite auto-shooter from developer Sobaka Studio and publisher ESDigital Games, has revealed a full release date for July 18th, 2023.

In REMEDIUM: Sentinels, players control robotic Sentinels to protect survivors from hordes of mutated humans, upgrading and combining new weapons to defeat powerful bosses.

REMEDIUM: Sentinels is currently available in Early Access on PC. When the 1.0 version launches, it will also be available on Nintendo Switch, and next-gen PlayStation or Xbox consoles. You can watch today’s full release date trailer on the ESDigital Games YouTube channel:

REMEDIUM: Sentinels is set in the same universe as Sobaka Studio’s other upcoming game REMEDIUM, which also features mutants and alchemy, but instead opts for twin-stick shooter mechanics.

REMEDIUM: Sentinels perfectly matches very different types of pulp, though its gameplay loop borrows from Vampire Survivors. The result looks surprisingly accessible, if not totally distinguishable.

The world of REMEDIUM: Sentinels may be dour, but it offers a variety of zones, and it would be neat if different terrain encourages players to be strategic.

The enemy design can be a little straightforward at times, but the titular Sentinels simply look brilliant. They’re over the top in an imaginative way, with clear personalities and abilities, so that each of them seems worthwhile.

Similarly, the enemy bosses appear to be a natural counterpart. They look legitimately threatening and visually inventive.

Notably, the trailer closes with a reminder that even more content will be added for the full launch. The game’s Steam page features a content roadmap, which hints that new Sentinels, bosses, and more will be added later on.

There’s a decent amount of content for an indie game, and its theme alone provides even more room for creative expansion. It should intrigue fans of the genre, especially with its polished visuals.
