Grand Emprise: Time Travel Survival, an upcoming open world survival game from indie developer and publisher Tbjbu2, has just released a new trailer featuring space-themed gameplay.

In Grand Emprise: Time Travel Survival, players will build colony bases and manage resources in order to survive many different eras of time, ranging from riding dinosaurs to piloting mechs.

Grand Emprise: Time Travel Survival doesn’t have a release date yet, but according to the official Steam page, it’s expected in August 2023. A free prologue demo will also be available on Steam tomorrow, June 7th. Here’s the full space reveal trailer from the developer’s YouTube channel:

Perhaps the most compelling thing about Grand Emprise: Time Travel Survival is its remarkable ambition to deliver the ultimate freedom.

It has wisely indulged the most fantastic concepts for each environment, encouraging players to pursue anything, however outlandish. As a result, there’s a dazzling, adventurous attitude that feels very accessible.

Grand Emprise: Time Travel Survival stretches its sense of scale through sheer variety. You’ll be able to enjoy just about every potential survival theme in a single experience.

The depth of content is so expansive, it should theoretically run the risk of collapsing under its own weight. But it continues to impress and reassure with every trailer.

Also, the Steam page mentions a clever approach. The devs tightened the pace by keeping each time duration relatively short, and they avoided pure sandbox gameplay.

It’s neat that despite all of the different ages involved, the art design is consistent throughout. And the broader imagery still distinctly and effectively captures each time period.

The premise of this game alone should capture your imagination, but it doesn’t seem like a gimmick. Instead, the devs had a clear vision for it, and the result looks like an opportunity to live out an epic matinée serial.
