Although today’s announcement included a very brief teaser, you can watch a full gameplay trailer for Solarpunk on publisher rokaplay’s YouTube channel:
The devs have mustered something very remarkable and tidy for such a very small team. Solarpunk allows its theme to permeate every detail, emphasizing gusts of wind with swaying foliage and soothing sounds.
It truly excels in creating something gentle, but not too simple. Further, it effectively captures the spirit of the broader genre.
Solarpunk elaborates on just how the core ideology could function in the context of survival. It also allows players to share adventures together, and that cooperation reinforces the friendly tone and themes of the game.
Setting Solarpunk in the open air innately has a sweeping sense of freedom, and is partly used in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The environments are filled to the brim with colorful and bright scenery, which genuinely feel like a worthwhile adventure.
The glowing soundtrack is equally charming, and surely worth a separate release for looping on your downtime.
The gameplay isn’t very complex, but simplicity that makes you take a deep and relaxed breath seems to be the point. Solarpunk’s meditative atmosphere might legitimately inspire or bolster your own boundless optimism.
